Swelling down below
I gave birth just over a week ago and had a second degree tear and labia lacerations, the stitches for the tear are healing really well but I’m incredibly sore where the lacerations are, I looked with a mirror and it’s very red and swollen, what should I do? Midwife hasn’t checked me over at all! Would I need to contact gp or would it be the hospital?

Midwive can check. I was also told that I can still call the maternity assessment centre up to 6 weeks pp
I phoned triage and they wouldn’t see me🙄 got an appointment with the gp this afternoon

I asked this and they said to ask the midwife to check next time you see her. I’m seeing mine on day 5 pp so I’m going to ask her to check and see what’s going on as I feel the same xx
