@Tricia although this stinks for you , I’m glad to hear I’m not alone 😅. I think I have to realize that not everything is going to be perfect and this is part of them being babies . I hate when people ask ohhhh is her diaper dirty ? Ohhhh is she teething ??? Uhhh no you’re in her face and she doesn’t know you yet 😂
Yup...my son was struggling. My husband grandmother is very loud and gets in face, crazy baby talk, getting any and every flashing light and shoving it in his face... we spent a lot of time in a separate room with lights dimmed or outside. Baseline, he refuses naps a lot and everything just put him over the edge.
@Sara it’s so funny that people don’t understand that’s a lot for babies this age ! They keep trying to entertain them and when they respond poorly it’s “ oh I bet they’re teething ohhh she’s cranky today ! “ uhhh no granny it’s your face 😂
Yes! My little one was really thrown off by just 2 more people. They’re used to their mamas scent, and being with us!
We went through the same thing last night. My son is almost 4 months old and this is the second time he was overstimulated. Last night, everybody went straight to him and said hi and wanted to hold him and pass him around. He has his moments of smiles but then turned when he didn't want anything to do with them. First we fed him to see if that would put him in a better mood. He was content halfway through dinner. My sister was holding him so I could help my mom clean up and my hubby finished dinner. Then he went from 0 to 60 with a huge meltdown, even when he was back in my arms he was hard to control. Took him outside and in the car seat to walk around and instantly calmed down. I totally think it was seeing a lot of faces at once and it was louder than normal for him.
