Abnormal ‘period’

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the final diagnosis? For the past month i have been experiencing heavy bleeding, week 2 of the bleeding i lost some blood clots which were very strange looking, hard to explain but definitely more than just blood. I’m still bleeding now and losing clots but only small ones and i’m still having cramps every now and then.. I’ve been to the hospital and i’ve been to the doctors multiple times but we’re still unsure so waiting on results from scans to see if there’s any answers from that 😅 Has anyone else experienced this and could tell me what it possibly could be?! For reference - I did a pregnancy test the day before i’d lost the ‘clots’ and it came back negative so would be highly unlikely for it to have been a miscarriage- despite it looking very similar to one!

Shot in the dark but have a look at premature menopause maybe? Heavy bleeding can be a sign of that

This started like this for me from June bleed for 5 weeks and ended having irregular periods from there to this day turns out I had developed small fibroids and ovarian cysts, the pain is worse than giving birth I would just monitor how long, bleeding, clots and pain for next 3 months as they can’t refer you to ultrasound until you have had 3 months of irregular periods . Also get them to check your iron levels as they can drop massively if bleeding for weeks

@Rumbi I’ve had an ultrasound already just awaiting the results!

@Kay The large pieces of tissue that i lost wouldn’t make sense for it to be this though 😅

Yeah I realised after 😅hopefully it’s not anything serious and just be hormone imbalance, I had to wait a week for my results by phone call

@Rumbi Did you have to have surgery to remove the cysts? What was the treatment you had? I hope not! But this is not normal that’s all i know lol x

Well they said mine are very small and shouldn’t cause any concern and resolve on its own, just awaiting for another rescan as precaution to see they’re not growing or if they’re gone so no need to refer to gynaecologists department just yet But when I get my periods now they last longer a week now and be so uncomfortable than normal so I never know when my next period will be But I hear stories like mine and turns out there’s multiple hidden months or years later 😭I’m just trying to change my diet a little more healthy and light exercise if makes any difference for it to go away

I had tests they said it was something like low thyroid plus iron, plus I have a few small fibroids. It got better when I started taking supplements like iron, selenium, kelp, magnesium, the heavy bleeding settled, and now a year on I'm definitely more normal

@Rumbi Hopefully when you have your scan they havent grown 🤞🏼 My periods have never ever been like this, never lasted more than a week, never lost clots, never had heavy bleeding or painful cramps but this is a whole new level of pain.. So strange isn’t it!
