Diastasis recti…

Can anyone who has had diastasis recti and then it’s gone away please tell me are your abs totally back together all the way down? My abs have come back together at the top and right at the bottom but in the middle I can still feel a gap and I can still get two fingers into the gap. I went to a women’s health physio and she said it was ok and I can start doing crunches and stuff but I can still feel a gap. It’s been a year so I would’ve thought it should’ve gone back together by now.

Me! I had 4cm gap postpartum and was refered to physio (which i rarely did oops) but it went back together on its own after about 6 weeks enough that she signed me off (got down to 1 or 2cm i think?) 1 year later the top and bottom are definitely closed but im sure the middle still has a gap, it wouldn’t stop me doing crunches etc. though if i wanted to, if anything that would help it close x

Thanks that’s really helpful! I don’t know why but I’m always so conscious of it and scared to do exercise. My physio says she thinks it’s gone down but to me it feels like it hasn’t.

I can still feel the gap but its much better after postnatal pilates for about 6 months and got signed off and been back at the gym
