How do you get your child to pay attention to you? I try and read to my 3 year old and she sings out loud to try and over talk me or she tries and turn the pages while I’m reading.

My 3.5 year old does the same thing - I have to let him choose the book he wants or else it’s not happening.

Some things I’ve tried that kind of helped: 1. Allow the child to pick out the books that interest them 2. Don’t bother reading all the words on the page, just focus on pictures and making up a story line that you think will keep her engaged. 3. Ask questions - what does she see in the book? What are the characters doing? Etc.. questions help them be more interactive
