6 good quality is a great number. I think my doctor said people often get 2-3 good quality in one retrieval. I have PCOS so I got a lot. But like they always say, all you need is the one!
It’s all relative. There are so many factors that determine whether a number is “good” but it’s more about quality… the IVF funnel is unrelenting. My first retrieval (31 yo) we had 6 mature eggs and got 3 blasts, but only one pgt normal. But that one embryo is my now 2.5 year old son. One of my cycle buddies got 20 something eggs retrieved, 5+ pgt normal embryos but it took 5 transfers before getting a living child. So my advice is to focus on listening to the embryologist about your specific chances and don’t worry about comparing numbers to other people (I know, easier said than done). Hang in there. This wait is terrible. 🫂
When I did mine, I had 22 egg retrieved, 11 fertilized, and 6 to blast. It’s definitely more about quality of the eggs versus the quantity. All 13 may be good embryos! You never know! Best of luck!
