Head lice advice

My daughter had head lice seven weeks ago. We treated it and checked her hair regularly, using the comb each time we washed her hair. We on one occasion found a louse immediately after she had a playgroup and removed it but apart from that, her hair was spotless. There was nothing until last week, I found one louse, a small one, not fully matured. I found one egg which didn’t pop and thought again maybe she just picked it up somewhere and that the egg was from when I treated her hair. Today, I’ve noticed two more eggs. Again, they didn’t pop so I don’t know if they were dead ones from when I treated her hair. I went through her hair throughly and found nothing else. What do you think?

Any tips on how I get on top of it? I hate putting the lotion in her hair as it seems so harsh. I fine comb her hair with the nitty gritty comb, section by section each time she has a bath. I can’t see an active infection and the lotion says to only use if there is an active infection, I.e. louse present.

Use tea tree oil in her shampoo and conditioner

Growing up there was a neighbor I’d play with who constantly had lice. My mom would have me sleep in mayonnaise with a shower cap on… I can still smell it 😣 but a few nights would always do the trick and my hair would be extra soft afterwards so I feel like it was worth it (it smothers them)
