Is anyone else struggling with their partner?

Me and my partner have been together for 8 years and now expecting our first child. It seems as though in the recent months, his depression is getting worse and I feel like I’m getting the brunt of it. I’ve tried talking to him so many times and it ends up going nowhere. It’s getting to a point where sometimes asking him to do something around the house is causing an argument and it’s getting me worried that once the baby is here it will get worse. I don’t know what to do next :( any suggestions?

Has he seen a doctor for support regarding his depression?

Do you speak to any of his family members or if he has a close friend that he is more receptive too to have a chat with him, especially if he's refusing help or won't admit to his depression or not engaging. It will most probablly not improve if he doesn't seek help before arrival of the baby and it will just add a strain on you. You can always call Mind for help, Carers Trust UK, Rethink, or your local mental health NHS trust/GP for help, even your midwife

@Sarah No. I’ve asked him to at least make an appointment but he won’t do it :(

@Michelle I do and they have been supportive. They have tried to help but he won’t really listen to them. I think it’s because they have a strained relationship. He knows he’s depressed and says he knows what the problem is but isn’t sure how to fix it/work through it. I suggested therapy but a barrier gets put up to it every time :/ xx
