In desperate need of reassurance

We had our second settle in session at nursery today and we left her for half an hour after staying for half an hour and wow it couldn’t have gone worse. We got back and she was crying uncontrollably to the point she couldn’t get her breath and I feel devastated. I just don’t know what to do I go back to work next week and I can’t bare the thought of her being upset every day. Will it get better? Any success stories please 😫

My little boy started nursery a few months ago and was like this on his settling in session. But when he started the following week he did so much better, it did take him a while to fully settle but he now loves going ! Try not to stress xx

It will get better. My daughter doesn’t go in any one else arms but me and her dad. She cried at every drop off for about two months. She then stopped crying when picked up. She now happily goes in and when i pick her up she’s smiling and shows me her toys there 🥹 i was so proud of her when she stopped crying at drop off 😊 it’ll get better for her and for you… you will also be busy at work and that helped me not to think of my LO there 🤞🏽she is 13 months and started nursery at about 9 months two days a week. She does 3 days now. It’s harder for us than for them. If they don’t ring you once you have left, it means she’s settled and she’s fine. I guess is normal to cry when they see you back ❤️

Different children settle at different rates but if you are worried talk to work about going back on half days (if nursery suggests it) so little one does half days for a couple of weeks and then work up to a full day. Even if they don't call for you to collect you can still pick up a few hours early or keep working. Just a idea xx

It is so hard leaving them but it will get easier and she will get used to it, it is just a scary new surrounding. My little boy was the same also started at a really bad teething time so I was dreading it and he barely ate or drank his bottles then after a few full days he was totally different and loved it. Stay positive 💗
