Leaving baby at nursery

I just left my baby at nursery for her first 2 hour settling in session. She was so happy the first 40 mins roaming around everywhere whilst I was there and then saw me get up to go so crawled over and she hugged me so so tightly like she knew I was gonna leave her - then obviously cried her eyes out when I had to hand her over and leave. Can someone please tell me this gets easier asap and that she’s hopefully stopped crying and playing again?? This is going to be the longest hour of my life and I’m feeling so so guilty about leaving her.

My little boy cries nearly every time I drop him off and he's been going for 4 months. I just leave and as soon as I'm out of sight they message me and say he's fine and send me pics and he's having a whale of a time. I promise she will settle as soon as you're out of sight and have the best time xx

Did you have to stay? I just left my little boy as soon as he wanted to go down and play i shot off so he didn't think about me. That might make it easier for you? x

I think he got abit sad after like 45mins but they just read to him, etc and said he was fine then x

Oh god yes sorry but about 30 seconds after you disappear from view they see something and happily play... they may cry and reach for you when u pick them up just to make u feel extra shitty, but it's just because they suddenly remembered you'd left 7 hrs ago

Thank you all. Sounds like she cried for about 15 mins on and off when I left but then snack time calmed her down. And when I came in at the end, she was playing happily. Hoping the crying stops before 4 months though 😭🙈
