Help

My daughters just absolutely started screaming hysterically and shaking and won’t stop she doesn’t want to be comforted she can hardly catch her breath, threw up because she cried so much, I’m here on my own and I have no idea what to do she sounds like she’s in immense pain but I don’t see any signs of illness, refused Calpol in hysterics over it, she refused to eat dinner so I just put her to bed as she wouldn’t stop crying. Any ideas?

How is she doing now? This sounds super distressing for you both x

She eventually went to sleep after 2 hours of hysterical crying, but she keeps crying out in her sleep x

Hi my boy was like this! He slept awful as would was up screaming. He showed no signs of illness. After a few days of this a lot of puss came out of his ear. Turns out he had an ear infection and a perforated ear drum. If it wasn’t for the puss that came after a few days I wouldn’t have known. He was not pulling or touching his ear, his ear wasn’t red etc xx

Omg bless him, hope he’s doing ok now! :) @Leah

She’s just finished a course of amoxicillin yesterday morning, for a cough lasting more than 5 weeks but the cough cleared up 2 days into the antibiotics, so surely if it was an ear infection the antibiotics would have cleared anything like that x

Antibiotics can mess up your stomach as it basically kills all your good gut bacteria, so she could have had some bad stomach pains or cramps.

@Siân I did think that after I posted this as she was throwing around a lot, she’s calmed down now but it was so random and very scary the way she was crying :( it’s so difficult when they can’t speak properly and just tell you what’s wrong x

I would take her straight to the walk in or call 111 at least don’t risk it, crying out it pain could be signs of anything and advice is to seek medical attention. Hope she feels better soon x
