How far in your pregnancy are you? I started having it now, with 27 to 28 weeks.. find it very uncomfortable… I stand up and move around but found out that lying down on the side does help.
I’m 31 week, had my first experience of it in week 29
Did it get more intense as the pregnancy developed?
@Jen I just called triage and she said as it has gone now and hasn’t done back, plus babies are moving fine she isn’t concerned. She said if it keeps happening though to come in.
@Camila 30 weeks so I think it’s fairly normal. Triage didn’t seem concerned when I called today as it’s gone now. I guess the key thing is that it isn’t constant or getting worse.
@Camila I’ve only had it once so far. I have read that it can get worse closer to your due date.
@Adele this is great than you! I was trying to call my triage but the lines been busy since 8:30! But yeah baby also moving fine. Can you take pain relief for it do you know?
@Jen probably yeah, but it might be better to not take it so you know what exactly it feels like as if it’s painful, that should be checked. So helpful having triage to go to whenever we worry isn’t it?!
It could also be something called Prodromal Labour, I’d never heard of it until I went in thinking I was in active labour! Contractions are real but it doesn’t lead to active labour with open cervix. My hospital gave me opioids and told me to take paracetamol at home but nothing else they can do sadly. Very painful indeed 😭
@Sophie I just googled it and it sounds very similar to braxton hicks. It says it doesn’t go away with a change of position though so I don’t think that’s what I had/have. It’s good to know this exists though so thank you.
I’ve been having this overnight and this morning, not sure what to do I’m on my way in to work but when they come on it takes my breath away!
