@Katie thank you soo much, I needed to hear that reassurance! It is the biological vs the ‘logic’ which is basically that western view that you mentioned!
Mines just started doing this. He was absolutely fine going to bed / sleeping through but recently he’s been a nightmare to get to bed, proper stalling and running around, then when he does settle he wants cuddling to sleep. Or he will appear by my bedside and climb into our room saying he’s scared, so a few nights recently he’s slept with me. Think it’s just another phase of many!!
My hubby has been in the spare room since LB was 2 months old. I will just say that it's biologically normal to want to sleep next to our loved ones. It's when we are most vulnerable and in a lot of countries it's the norm. In Western society, we seem to be really focused on forcing children into their own beds and own rooms from 6 months old, whilst also sleeping next to our loved ones. I have a biased view, but they are only small once, and soon, she'll be telling you to drop her off a street ffom school because your car isn't "cool". 🤣
