PPD is a little more than just irritability. It's one of the symptoms but there's many other symptoms that would go with a PPD diagnosis. I've had PPD twice now.
@Katherine From what I’ve been reading , that’s what it seems to be. Maybe it’s just regular postpartum
@Leslie What other symptoms have you had ? Were you diagnosed with it ?
I was diagnosed with it with my second kid and was recently diagnosed with my 3rd. It's a lot of things. Severe depression, mood swings, loss of appetite, insomnia, fatigue, restlessness, overthinking, unwanted or intrusive thoughts (sometimes about self harm), the biggest one is not feeling a connection to your baby or having difficulty bonding with them
If you've experienced any of that and lasts more than a couple hours or few days, I'd seek the help of a doctor. My sons pediatrician do these screeners at the appointments and my last one my score was very high so I had to reach out to my therapist and started therapy again. Were also gonna think about medication management because that's what I had to do before
There’s a commonly used PPD screener that is what helped me figure out I have it. https://med.stanford.edu/content/dam/sm/ppc/documents/DBP/EDPS_text_added.pdf
Yes, 16 weeks postpartum and still experiencing depression, anxiety, and anger!
i kinda lash out on my toddler and i feel horrible for it i just know he wants my attention and he’s also 2 so he’s in that age of saying no and doing what he wants. sometimes i just want to be with my baby alone but my toddler is literally attached to me
Same. That's PPD? I thought it was just fatigue and normal 😆
