Mine was a dream. They can’t refuse it. If the doctor does, they have to find another to do it for you. Recovery was grand. Just do as you’re told 😋
I’ve had 2. Never had any issues requesting one, in fact my obstetrician, the other surgeon present and the midwife all chose electives for themselves too. I was just told to understand that electives have risks, just general surgery info (bear in mind that vaginal births and any interventions also have risks) and that was it. Procedure is amazing. Baby out in 6 mins this time (I’m 3 weeks post my second one now) and no pain. Amazing experiences, super calm and happy. Skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, music playing, dad cut the cord, breastfed in recovery both times. Recovery, pain for me was never worse than a bad period. Up and walking to the shower in the evening after surgery, about to lift and feed baby, walking every day from discharge. By day 5 I was in Costco shopping. This time round I’ve been pushing my toddler around the park and babywearing my newborn at 10 days post surgery.
Like others have said - no problems and a great recovery, just stay on top of pain meds as a preventative rather than waiting for pain to come. I was pretty much pain free after maybe 8 days? Ours was readily accepted (almost encouraged towards the end) as we had a 97th percentile and increasing baby. A really lovely and relaxed experience, you just need to show them you understand the risks. Do your own research though - the NHS c section site links to a great page with a table showing risks of c section vs vaginal birth. I had an annoying consultant try and tell me that 95% of women who have a vaginal birth walk out the same day and why didn’t I want that. Of course those aren’t the statistics, especially for first time mums, so just gave her a smile and a nod!
https://www.rcog.org.uk/for-the-public/browse-our-patient-information/considering-a-caesarean-birth/# if you expand all the notes at the bottom about 2/3s the way down there’s an excellent risk comparison table x
I’m very surprised people opt for major abdominal surgery…
@Kim me being surprised that women want a cesarean is not the same as me judging. And we all are entitled to an opinion. Idk when we decided we all need to agree. But here’s mine and there’s yours. Thanks
@Kim what did I criticize? What is my judgement??? What am I saying here? Please tell me
@Kim you are unhinged lmao
@Kim no that’s how you perceived my comment. You’re clearly triggered and that’s not my problem. I said I’m surprised people opt for a major surgery. Whatever judgements you think I made are from your own delusions. Go away lmao
@Kim breast is best tho babe. That’s not judgement, it’s a fact. And I don’t judge FF moms/babies because I don’t care LOL
@Kim there’s something wrong with you lol bye Kimberly. Be weird with someone else. idc what you choose to do with your kid or your body. Like I don’t care even a little bit I promise 🫶🏾
@Kim lmao are you smoking crack this pregnancy????
@Kim you have to know that crack is not good for your baby Kimberly. Please stop smoking it
I requested one at my 10 week midwife appointment as I knew it was what I wanted from the start! She put me forward to chat with a consultant and at 26 weeks and I got a date there and then! 👌🏼 There was no battle or questioning, my consultant was lovely and really understanding x

@Kim here waiting to see if your fellow Brit’s calls you out for the racist you are.
@Kim whose you lot Kim? Do tell. Bark bark.
@Kim you’ll be barking when you get dog walked off the app for your disgusting comments 🤮
@Kim you’re like 40 ish and you’re on here acting like you’re your oldest child’s age. It’s not a threat. This isn’t the high school parking lot. Grow up already.
@Kim every time you come on the internet with your bigoted comments and I see them, it becomes my business.
If you can’t clarify who “you lot” is, it’s because you’re a racist and you’re trying to avoid being blatant enough to get permanently banned.
@Kim you will see my nose every single time you’re nasty to a black woman. Every. Single. Time.
@Kim who’s @Zainab🗝️ lot? I’d be really interested to know. How many children do you consider enough to be called a mother @Kim
@Kim so do you have a problem with Americans? Because lets be honest, you could’ve left that part off. Say it with your whole chest and tell us how you really feel.
@Kim how was her comment judgemental ? 😭 and what u mean by ur kind? Blacks? You’re racist as hell. Aren’t we all here on the app to find mommy friends dumb dumb ? So how is she begging for friends? U sound slow.
@Kim I had a c section. I just don’t like bigots on the internet.
@Kim what’s having more children got to do with being a real mother?
@Kim I don’t care. She barely said anything and you jumped down her throat. There is always Reddit if you’re having a bad day. You called her a thing and you said one too many your kinds and you lots. I’m going to speak up and I really don’t care what you say. Racists not liking me has never hurt my feelings
@Kim you don’t get to decide who comments. How come you’re not talking to your country folk who are asking you questions?
@Kim coming with assaults from grown women like you are very embarrassing. You’re extremely rude , also very disrespectful to call out about how many kids anyone have .

@Kim I love the attention but I’ve ignored you for the past 30 mins lmao ok. I don’t need to block you
She’s blocked me @Zainab🗝️ . Clearly doesn’t want to talk to us. Probably because she’s knows we could find out where she works (if she does) and she could loose her job. I’ve taken screenshots of it all anyway 🤷🏻♀️
@Liv she’s not replying to you because she can’t give you the “you lot” or “your kind” treatment.
@Zainab🗝️ she’s actually blocked me, social media has made people far too confident to spout this rubbish to people. Guaranteed she’d never say any of this to someone’s face.
@Kim for someone who hates Americans you sure do want to talk to them a lot.
@Liv she blocked you because she’s afraid of actual real life consequences of being a racist.
@Kim half to to me alot? 😭🤣 what?
@Zainab🗝️ I wish I screenshot her display picture as I’m sure she’d be easy to find on reverse image search 🤷🏻♀️
@Liv she’s gone, says user not found so maybe someone can tell us what happened. That’s actually so embarrassing.
@Zainab🗝️ I reported the “that thing” comment and I can’t see her after that.
@Zainab🗝️ that was quick 💀
And now you block me 😂😂😂😂
@Lauren if she’s not in your block list (sometimes if you report that happens), it’s because she got banned, I guess she didn’t need to explain who “you lot” is lol.
I reported her 😭
@Zainab🗝️ she’s not blocked for me so I think she’s been banned, I guess there were enough reports in a short space of time.

Think she’s been banned as I’ve had no input and it says user not found. As a Brit I’m so sorry that language was directed towards you, absolutely vile, we do not claim her. She blew @Monét comment completely out of proportion. I elected for a c section and I even understand what she is saying lmao
@Reina if it says user not found when you click it usually means banned. If it says access denied it’s blocking.
@Zainab🗝️ thank you 🙏. It says user not found . I guess she was banned.
@Liv it’s been a while since I’ve seen someone get banned that quickly. If she comes back me and my big nose will be here 🤣
I reported the comments too as they were vile and unneeded. Same as @Kel said, I understood what was meant by the comment and even if someone didn’t it was unneeded… especially to that extent and making personal digs.
I just told them at my 20 week scan that’s what I wanted, there was no issues at all and she called and got it booked in for 39 weeks and gave me a date.. recovery was great, just don’t overdo it and ask for as much help as you need in those first few hours, they were very accommodating with me as little one refused to latch so I was buzzing every hour to begin with! During the procedure it’s very calm, we were laughing and joking with the staff and they talk you through every step, keep checking on you if you feel well etc.. I have to say, I’ve had 2 sections now and both times it’s been fantastic .. good luck :)
