Nappy Off Time

Commenting to stay on this thread as I’m also interested in “pee proof” play mats x

I have wondered this as well... my girl had no nappy time a lot but I am a bit more nervous this time cuz I have a boy and it just goes everywhere 🤣🤣

We just put a puppy pad down for our girly 😂 stops the wee running everywhere and easy to tidy up after!

I bought these to use instead of puppy pads for my home birth (very eco conscious), but we have been using them with lil man ever since too, so they have became one of my best buys! We always have one in the changing bag too as a changing mat, soak everything up & soft & reusable, win win!!

We use puppy pads and every morning/night have the nappy off whilst we do a wash. Love the reusable one for changing mat too! Thanks @Missy-Matrix

I put a muslin on top of his change mat, and then tie it round his waist loosely so the pee doesn’t shower him, or run up his back! I normally put him under the play gym to keep him busy

@Chloe this is a good tactic! We have a boy and i’m worried about the pee going all over everything so this is a great idea!

I just put a blanket underneath him yes he peed but it just goes in the wash.

I leave his vest on and then pop a muslin under his bum then loosely tuck it into his vest so it loosely covers his privates to stop pee going everywhere! He loves nappy free time so he gets it basically any time he is gurning and isn't needing fed or a sleep! With my daughter I just popped a muslin under her bum and that caught all the pee! Xxx

I tie it like a little toga and it does the job perfectly 😂

Can I just ask what the benefits of doing this is? Sorry to sound stupid I've just never heard about having nappy off time for babies before

@Natalia I’m not actually 100% sure, but i just assume it’s to let the skin breathe and help avoid nappy rash☺️

@Kirstie we would do this, but i’d like to do the time in the living room with the toys where it is comfiest but wouldn’t like pee constantly going on the carpet!

We use a towel and just wash it afterwards

We also have a set of reusable make up wipes. We use it as a peepee teepee to stop pee going everywhere
