Following I want to cut off as well
@Ashleigh that makes sense, I might try that and see how she goes.
We cut out the dummy when our little one had a cold.. she was struggling to breathe through her nose so kept spitting the dummy out and we thought it would make sense to wean her off it at that point.. now its like she has forgotten it ever existed! Sorry no real tips, just good timing worked for us I guess as she was already refusing it due to the cold
With my eldest we did it when he was teething and he didn't want it in so we just didn't give it back. We did it at around 9/10mo. With my current baby we did it at 5mo as we were up constantly putting it in. He didn't sleep well anyway so he didn't go to sleeping well when we removed the dummy but he did get over not having the dummy to go to sleep within a couple of nights. Now he self settles really well with a comforter.
Well, she didn't have a dummy at nap time yesterday. She did have it for 5 mins at bedtime but didn't wake up for it until 4 am, so I'll take that as a win for now.
I started this last night and put him to bed without it and he didn’t wake up until 4.45am! He also went back down without it after a feed. Not any tips but my little boy woke crying but I’ve found last night that as he didn’t have it to begin with he was actually okay? X
