Transitioning from Breastfeeding to Formula

So I’ve made in 3 months of breastfeeding. That was my goal. My baby currently combo feeds. I would like to transition to just bottles, I don’t mind pumping right now but I keep going back and forth with stopping breastfeeding. Part of me feels like I need to keep going to bond with my baby and boost his immune system, the other part I would like to have my body back and wear normal bras. Also you know how easy it is to just breastfeed him in the early morning instead of making a bottle. Just a bunch of emotions about this. Side note: I love this app and all the women on here. I don’t know any of you but it makes me feel good to know that I’m not alone in this journey!

My OB said 3 months of breast milk was my minimum they need for the health benefits you stated. And you can bond without breast feeding people do it all the time when they formula feed I would just replace that time with skin To skin. This is my second with my first my supply was almost nothing. And we have a great bond. I find prepping bottles in the fridge helps as well

I agree! 3 months is perfect for baby’s development! Do what is best for you! As long as your baby is fed and other basic needs are met, YOU, Mama, are ENOUGH. Your presence / QT without boob in mouth is still everything! 💖✨

3 months was my first goal as well. I have supplemented with a little formula. I agree that it’s just so easy to whip out the boob lol. We will see how we continue. I breastfed my 1st until 13 months when I swore I was gonna quit every month 😆 I think by 6 months it got super easy because i was only feeding him a few times a day and maybe once at night. We will see how my 2nd does.

Thank you guys for the advice
