Talking from someone who has done solo on and off since youngest was 1 week old (now 10 weeks), recently turned 1 year old and 3 year old… you can only do your best. We can hope they don’t wake at the same time but sometimes they do. They will both cry, it will be stressful. Does you eldest listen to a tonie box or anything like that? If I was you I would quickly go into eldest try settle with whatever you normally do and then explain you need to go in to 1 year old and you’ll be back. By then they should be asleep 🤣
My husband works graveyards so I'm solo parenting almost 24/7, i bring baby girl into my son's room for stories and prayers, then I put him down and tuck him in. Then i take baby girl to my room and put her to bed next. On a good night I can get them both down within half an hour
I've been doing it for a while now. First dot get yourself worked up , do trial runs a week before he leaves and see how it goes. If both wake up at the same time , talk to your toddler, reassure him/her that mommy is here and he/she should lay down because it's night night time, while you feed the little one. Make sure your toddler can see you. They might cry a little bit, but don't get frustrated and stay calm. This has helped me , I hope it helps you.
