When can I start exercising again & breastfeeding management

I was wondering when you ladies went back to exercise post partum? I'm coming up to 4 weeks and I'm so ready to go back. I'm a runner and crossfitter. I also am breastfeeding my baby so wondered how mums found managing going to the gym and feeding especially in the early days?

Heyyy as a pre and post natal coach we advise no earlier than 6 weeks- 8 weeks if you’ve had a c- section! I run a mum and baby fitness group and we have loads of breast feeding mums! They tend to feed just before the session and then if and when needed during it. They just jump back in when they can

I started back at 5 weeks postpartum. Lots of stretching and back to body pump class (kept my weights light) and it was pretty easy as I had previously been doing it with a big bump. I started back running at 9 weeks. My legs were pretty heavy up til then when doing long walks and stuff. Get back to it if you feel up for it but try and not overdo it x

i went back at five weeks to the gym and found it tough so went back to home work outs for another two weeks. Something helpful i did was buy nursing sport bras from my protein which means can get dressed in the morning g for the gym, feed my baby no issue through the day and then just leave straight for the gym whenever the opportunity arises. I’ve been a few times now, the hardest thing i find is getting the time and getting into headspace for the session. I exclusively breastfeed, so i try go when my baby is napping and just had a big feed, it’s quite unpredictable when that will happen so it’s not always easy to fit in a gym session. Also I know my partner will call me immediately if the baby wakes and it will take less than 10 mins for me to be back but i spend a lot of the session worrying about if i need to suddenly leave😬

6 or 8 weeks you are safe to return to exercise. Before then you can do diaphragmatic breathing. Breastfeed or express before u work out
