TW correcting birth injury

So I had an epesiotimy and possible a second degree tear (some notes mention it but note from delivery do not) and it didn’t heal right. My stitches tore and it was just a complete disaster. I’m still in pain from it almost 17 months post partum and have now been told I may have to go to theatre, have the scar tissue cut out and have it all refashioned and I am terrified. Has anyone else had this done and can you give your honest opinion on what the whole process was like, how it felt and what the recovery time was for it please?

I would look for other options, maybe plastic surgeon too. NHS is usually usless.

In a similar position kinda, i’m waiting on the surgery, i currently have a 3/4cm hole as my stitches ripped open too and caused infection. i’m waiting to properly heal before i have the surgery, not sure where you’re based but i was referred to ‘PAP’ (Pelvis After Pregnancy - Which specialise in this kind of thing) to discuss options (awaiting phone call in march) but the hospital has been so good to me. I can’t really give much advice as i haven’t had it yet but I hope this gets sorted asap for you and you’re welcome to message me anytime! Maybe ring your GP and explain the severe pain you’re in, maybe milk it and have a big cry but please be brutally honest so they can give you the support you need and even mention PAP - I’m Nottingham Based btw xxx sending loves

@Remigija I can’t afford to go private

@Leah I have another appointment with my GO today to speak about it further and find out what’s going to happen. I’m just retired for it hapoening again

Oh bless you i hope it goes well🤞🏼i can understand your worry and pain and it shouldn’t of happened in the first place, it makes you wonder doesn’t it! However, it could also work and be the best thing to happen, sometimes you have to take the risk🖤let me know xxx (if you want ofc)

@Leah thank you for your support. I’m being referred back to gynaecology again. Seems to just be swings and roundabouts xx
