PPA?

Unsure if I may have post partem anxiety and what to do about it. I can’t stop worrying about SIDS, she’s six months old and I’m still awake half the night worrying and reading, so so much reading on stats about it. The fact it can happen no matter what you may do to try prevent is my main issue, the lack of control. Been too embarrassed to tell anyone when they say are you so sleep deprived because the baby isn’t sleeping, that no it’s because I’m worrying too much to sleep. I don’t know how to stop this :(

Speak to your HV or make an appointment with your GP. If IAPT is a service in your area, self refer to them & get yourself some talking therapy (you'll take priority as bubba is under 1 years of age) Also, maybe, get someone to take your phone off you at night?

I worry about it but far too tired to worry about it all night 😅 if it's affecting you all night you need to speak to someone who can help you with your mindset about it

Have you tried talking therapies, I think every NHS region has them and you can self refer online. It might be a starting point to getting some help.

The fact your little one is 6 month old the risk reduces! Then again at 1. My friend who’s a HV said the likeness of SIDS happening without other factors (smoking, too hot etc) would be down to genetics like an undiagnosed heart condition etc. try not to worry about it, the likelihood of it occurring is still very low. If you’re concerned get one of the owlets, that was if there’s a drop in oxygen heart rate etc your phone will alarm you- this can causes its own anxieties but may help you sleep knowing you have piece of mind x
