Listening to baby cry

I can’t handle hearing my baby cry if I’m not holding him, his dad tries to take over to give me a break but it makes me feel worse not being the one holding him, it’s exhausting but I just can’t deal with handing him over😭😭

how many weeks postpartum are you? x

I remember when my baby was a few weeks old I would go sleep earlier then her and my partner but I would just roll over listening to her cry and end up not sleeping and taking her up with me it gets better I’m now 16 weeks PP and she loves spending time with dad!!

@Beki 15 xx

I can't either. I never really let my husband carry on holding him if he's crying as I just put him on the boob and he calms down. It works for us. When he's fussing and not crying dad can calm him and they have a lovely relationship, but magic boobs win every time

@Charley 100% this!!!

I’m the exact same, hate hearing him cry when I know I can settle him quickly, so I just grab him from my partner but that’s what works for us - when I’m out my partner will settle him but I just can’t listen to him cry makes me feel so sad

i was like this when breastfeeding and still am sometimes now🥲i think it's like a biological thing for mothers x

This is soso normal! We’re programmed to hate the sound of our baby crying. It’s important to try and find time for yourself but if it’s so stressful you can’t bear it and you’re happy to just hold babe as much as you need x
