Colic

Any colic mums out there struggling? I’m struggling so bad and the doctor was so horrible to me I ended up leaving crying my eyes out feeling ten times worse.

I took my baby to the doctor last week for another issue and he rushed me off and made me feel like my questions weren’t valid. It was a very unpleasant experience and I am appalled that doctors treat new mothers in such a condescending way! I am so sorry for your experience… Also motherhood is so difficult when babies cry a lot :( And when we don’t get nearly enough sleep to recharge mentally and physically

@Jessy I literally went in crying for help with colic he told me it’s just because I’m a first time mum I don’t know what I’m doing and I’ve just got to get on with it, I’ve got 2 stepchildren who are young and I also raised my nephew. Was just a big kick in the face and he said I need to stop crying about it because I’m making it worse than it should be 😔

Unfortunately I don’t think there is much that can be done for colic as they are defined as ‘a well baby who cries’ which is so hard to deal with! My boy was so colicy in the beginning and nothing seemed to help - he’s mostly over it now after giving infacol and lots of tummy massages (I know it doesn’t work for everyone and it didn’t happen overnight) Doctors by no means should dismiss that though, it’s so hard on the parents having to sit an listen to a cry that is designed to upset us - even if nothing can help baby they should still try to help mother/parents! Do you have a health visitor you could talk to? Mine was super helpful int he beginning at giving me different things to try and help easy things x
