Workout

I use to work out year ago and now I want to get back in to it but don’t know where to start. After having my second/last child, I want to get in shape. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction?

Cardio girl ! When I would start a weight loss journey I’d always work on cardio it would help me keep up in the gym also burns calories then afterwards when you feel comfortable start weight training to get toned it works wonders I promise just find you a good playlist & jam out 😃

@Merisa thank you

I’d actually start with weight training! It burns more calories and it’s easier to get into than running/cardio. You can get a good workout in in just 30 minutes by doing super sets! Lots of videos on YouTube to follow. I just have dumbbells at home and subscribed to the Bodi app!

@Katrina okay thank you

Postpartum personal trainer here and I agree with both comments above. Whatever works for you! However I always recommend strength training above all else. You’re gonna want that muscle as your baby grows. It burns more calories than cardio, and has longer lasting results :) But a combo is best! Youtube videos for home workouts are a great start. Eventually you want to follow a program so you can advance and improve, instead of just rumbling random workouts without a sense of direction There are so many good apps for it like Sweat, EvolveYou, MoveWithUs 🩷

I love group classes (yoga / barre) and strength training. Also, a gym with a sauna is so nice! I find it very therapeutic and such a peaceful way to enter a workout mindset! Just find a workout that makes you happy so you want to go and continue doing it.

I looked up mommy and me workout videos on YouTube and been doing those at home at first! And when my baby is more ok with me leaving for longer periods im gonna hit up my sister who has a gym membership where she can bring a guest !

@Kadija exactly!! That’s how I lost weight & seen results but that’s just me I understand not everything works for everyone but cardio is easy to start with especially for postpartum moms sometimes just jumping on weights right away can be dreadful in way because it’s like “where do I start?” especially if you don’t have a workout plan but I started with cardio first then I slowly went on to lifting
