Anyone else's 2020 child waking up in their sleep?

My child is 4 and every night wakes up a few times I don't know why sometimes they'll have a drink or they'll be a problem with the pillow or the blanket or they've lost their teddy but my child didn't used to do this they used to sleep perfect all night never used to wake up when they were a toddler but I can't remember when it started or what caused it and I don't know how to fix it the constant broken sleep is getting to me

Since we started putting our 4 year old girl on the potty/toilet when we go to bed she’s sleeping through a lot better. She opens her eyes but doesn’t wake up and always has a wee.

My daughter was October 2020, she’s always been like this, never sleeps through for no reason xx

My boy is the same but tells me he wakes up for cuddles

I’m having the exact same problem, he’s up a few times a night, he says bad dreams or needs the toilet (but absolutely doesn’t) and it’s exhausting 😩 No advise but just to say you’re not alone, I feel your pain. I hope it gets resolved soon for you.

Yep I can relate, my son is a July 2020 baby and every night without fail he wakes up and comes into my bed, sometimes it wake me up which gives me broken sleep and sometimes I don’t even realise he’s in my bed until the morning

Yup! My daughter was march 2020 and the last few weeks she’s been waking up and shouting for me or doing the creepy thing where she stands beside the bed and I wake up and shit myself 😂 Recent examples of reasons: Bad dream A sock had come off and she couldn’t find it There were shadows She forgot to put her shoes in her wardrobe The teddy’s trousers had fallen down I also have a 2 year old who likes to wake up at 4am, I’m tired 🫠

Mine seems to wake up a bit during the night but doesn't always let me know. She does shout me at times and I think it's when there has been a lot going on or she has a lot on her mind. When she goes through this we have talks before she goes to sleep about what she would like to dream about, it's normally rainbows and unicorns, she doesn't normally wake up and shout me when we do this as she goes to sleep happy and looking forward to dreaming. Maybe it takes her mind off other things. She always seems to have lots on her mind to think about

Yep, my son is July 2020 and still wakes sometimes. Last night he woke up twice with bad dreams. He didn’t say it was but he was crying but wouldn’t let me comfort him anything I did he cried more and told me to leave him but when I tried leaving the room he screamed. We can go for ages of him sleeping through and then we are back to him waking up for a few nights in a row a few weeks back it lasted over a week. Sometimes he wants cuddles, sometimes he’s cold other times he wants to get in my bed 😴 unfortunately it’s not predictable so have to just roll with it

March 2020 here.. NEVER slept through the night!

@Jasmine same here no matter what we try he NEVER sleeps through 😭

@Kayleigh yep & we have tried EVERYTHING!! Since having my second child I have come to the realisation that some kids just like to sleep & some kids can function on hardly anything 😂😂

October 2020 and his an horrendous sleeper 🫠 never slept through , did when he was really tiny but I’d say from 1 onwards it’s always been disturbed nights 😩 his younger brother who was October 2021 is a dream and always sleeps through 😅🤷🏼‍♀️

Just out of curiosity those with children with sleep issues did you have a traumatic birth or did your child have to stay in hospital at all? Cause I wonder if my sons trauma in the hospital could be linked

@Kayleigh I was in labour for 40 hours, had a 3rd degree tear & had stitches inside & outside, back to front with my kid that doesn’t sleep. Had a 12 hour labour & no tearing or stitches with my kid that does sleep 🤷🏼‍♀️

We were out of hospital within 14 hours of her being born, nothing majorly traumatic about her birth other than the fact that her hand was at her head 😂 so in my case I don’t think it’s linked

So in other words our children are just difficult and going through a phase (hopefully)🤞🏻😂 but interesting to know thank you for sharing your birth stories!

@Kayleigh yeah a ‘phase’ that’s lasted nearly 5 years!🙄🙄

June 2020 perfect when he was a baby for sleeping. Now he’s up around 7 times a night. My 2 year old sleeps better than him. It’s draining. He talks in he’s sleep aswell so if it’s not him getting up for whatever reason it’s him talking and shouting in he’s sleep
