Transitioning out of the swaddle!

My 15 weeks old LB isn’t showing any signs of rolling yet, but I wanted to transition him out of the swaddle to the sleeping bag. I’ve started with his naps today with one arm out to start with. It’s taken a while to get him to sleep and he wakes up 45 mins on the dot (coinciding with the natural lighter patch of sleep). Any tips on helping him get through these? He is usually ably to sleep a couple of hours at a time. Or should I wait another week to transition? Is it too early?

We tried ours out the swaddle at 15 weeks and it didn't go very well, he has such a strong startle reflex! We have a love to dream arms up transition swaddle, now he's 16 weeks I'm going to give it another go x

Ah this is good to know! We also have that arms up swaddle - I will give it a go!

We really struggled getting our little boy used to no swaddle. We use 2.5tog sleep suits now rather than sleeping bags and that's really made a difference. I guess in the swaddle they feel nice and warm and then the sleeping bag doesn't keep their arms warm. Loads of cheap ones on vinted!

@Adele that’s a great idea! I will have a look!
