Breastfeeding Twins

Hi twin moms, are you able to EBF twins? If so, how do you do it? Also how do you pump in between feedings to build up supply for nursery and returning to work? TIA🙏🏻

My twins are EBF! Never took formula, and are 15 months old now (still breastfeeding lol) I had a lot of support, it can be exhausting but I always knew I 100% wanted to breastfeed and so I chose to do it everyday since their birth. It’s all supply and demand, in the beginning two cluster feeding babies can be a bit worrisome, but trust your body, it’s normal that they always seem hungry at first. The pumping was the hardest part for me because they were always nursing directly so I felt like I didn’t have time to pump and store but I would do it at night while they slept and left enough milk for 2 bottles each the next day. I went back to work at 4 months old and it was only 2 days a week in the office and I was there for 4 hours, so my girls rarely took the bottle while I was gone but it made me feel better leaving them milk in case. Pumping at work helped me save for my next in office shift lol agin, trust your body,be consistent, nurse and stay eating/hydrated.

I breastfed 22.5 months with my first set, and we’ve made it four months now with the newest set. I just put them to breast anytime they made a noise in the beginning. Best way to establish supply is to let them nurse. Always keep water with you as breastfeeding makes you super thirsty. To have some to go back to work, I just began to pump ~2 hours after they nursed while they were napping. We followed the eat, play, sleep schedule so it worked out for me. Just try not to overthink it, try not to add extra stress about it. It took me about a week to have the extra, but I gave myself all that time because I knew it’d be hard to get the freezer supply while I was still home

@Demi you're so good! did you breastfeed both at the same time or one at a time?
