Thumb sucking

My 4 month old has started sucking her thumb. Shall I let her or try to stop this and nip in the bud. Have tried offering teething toys but she is more interested in her thumb

Personally, I think it's great. Both my babies have refused dummies and done this, and when they figure it out they can learn to settle themselves to sleep and hopefully through the night too. My first learnt to self-settle at around 4.5 months and slept through the night after that. This baby is just learning to suck his thumb and self-settle too, also sleeps great.

Oh my gosh my LB started at around 14/15 weeks. He’s 16 weeks now. We tried to stop it but once they discover it there’s no stopping 😂😂 He does settle himself by sucking his thumb. I tried a dummy but just really didn’t like how it looked on him 😂 and people said if he relies on a dummy and it falls out during the night then they wake up crying for it. A thumb is on their terms. I am worried if he takes a long time to stop it in the years to come… but many said they will naturally stop themselves. X

100% let them carry on! It's a life saver for self soothing as they can't lose their thumb like a dummy 😅trying to help my baby find hers atm!
