Colostrum harvesting breech baby

Hello! Bit late to the party but did you end up finding any more info on this? I’m 38 weeks today and have a section booked next Friday as baby is breech. Been collecting colostrum since Saturday…. My midwife didn’t advise against it when I told her I’d been planning to start collecting but she wasn’t the most attentive 😂

I went into the hospital so they could double check if she was still breech and we decided on an elective c section to be safe! My water broke around 03:50 and she arrived at 08:55. 😊 In the moment I was scared something would happen if we attempted a vaginal birth. @Josephine
@Josephine I messaged a friend who is a midwife and she said it’s fine to do! Just not to overdo it with long sessions - she said if breast stimulation was a good method of induction they (midwives) would use it, which I thought was a good point and put my mind at ease. Just stop if you get any braxton hicks tightenings/pains. I’ve been collecting for a week twice a day and getting about a 1ml syringe each day. No signs of early labour so think it’s fine. I’m booked in for my section next Friday too so our breech babies will have the same bday 🥰 hope all goes well for you!!
Oh thanks for the info! I did some googling and decided it sounds safe to carry on collecting. I’m getting about 1ml per go as well! Lovely to think our babies will be born on the same day 🥰 c section wasn’t in my original plans but baby seems to want to dictate its entry to the world 😂 good luck! Xxx
I had a breech baby and started collecting at 37+1 and I went into labour two days later. It may or may not be related but that was my experience
