Up my macros or train harder? *repost

I started a low fat high protein diet, exercise 5x week, I have lean genetics so I was skinny fat. I lost some fat but not much muscle growth should I up my macros or train harder? Advice?

100ish G protein 80 or less fat a day if it helps with advice

Have you gone up in weights?

@Brittany not yet I have some exercises I do weighted and others with bands, do you like need to find yourself physically dead after for it to grow muscle? Maybe it’s just enough I don’t want to overtrain and not get results that way 😫

Keep in mind that it may not be as simple as working harder or eating less. I know as I've gotten older, my body has responded differently to the training I do now compared to what I used to do in my 20s. Especially since having a child later in life. So you may want to incorporate other things like pilates, yoga, swimming, cycling. It will not only surprise your body (assuming you don't do those things) but the new challenge might make it more fun for you too!

@Bridgette I do take walks with my kids I just want to gain muscle, more build my shape strength training but thank you I want to swim more for sure!

@Orly here I am writing it down on the fridge 🤣 I mean it’s easier I feel like I have to be more focused for my phone but writing is quicker lol I think I’m gunna have an extra protein shake everyday see if it boosts if not I’ll take it up a notch💪

Love the Thorne protein shakes I have one a day!

I'm 120# and 5'4". My recommended macros for maintaining with exercising 4-5x a week is 112 P 52 F 245 C If I want to gain muscle I'm up to 134 P 62 F 294 C I'd say push protein (you need more for muscle health) and push the weightlifting. Either the same weight and up the reps or up the weight. Usually I do 2 sets of 12-15 reps at a heavy but comfortable weight and then a set heavy until failure

try upping to 120 P and have that as your minimum and keep training progressive overload to build muscle

You should probably eat more protein and add more heavy weights to your lifting.

@Liv okay so both got it I wasn’t sure if it was one or the other I’m just trying to be a milf to my man🤣

@Sarah I’ve been doing only 100 so def upping it it seems like so much food I’m so not used to it yet lol

@Nami I’m gunna try that and can’t see a way I won’t see results 💪
