Getting pronouns wrong

My child speaks well and has good understanding but for years now always gets pronouns wrong. Not sure if this is a big thing or not? Has your child mastered this?

Examples? I'm guessing your child is older than 3 because you say for years? x

Oh that was a bit of an exaggeration! She has spoken well since about 2, 3.5 years now. It's mainly mixing he and she him/her for male and female - repeatedly using him for sister, for example

Ours used to but recently it’s clicked, and she says if you’re a boy you say he or him etc It’s just practice and reinforcement. Nothing to worry about

Ah OK. I'm guessing it's normal, they are still figuring things out. Try not to say "that's not right too much as frustrating as it is haha X

Correct pronouns aren’t an age appropriate grammar skill right now, so nothing to worry about. I also correct and recast when my son makes a mistake with it.

Oh my boy does this all the time 😂 even in our own house and I’m the only female 😂🥰 x

Ah thank you, glad it's just normal

Yes my 3.5 year old is exactly the same. I'm glad I'm not alone too, so thanks for asking this! She often says he or him when she's talking about a girl (normally her teddy). She does know it's she for a girl cos we correct her, and she'll repeat it back, but I think just forgets in the moment of the sentence. Probably doesn't help that we keep calling teddy 'he' too, even though she is a girl!! I'm sure they'll get there soon.
