Tummy time

Hey all, my babies are 5.5 weeks old and I’m trying to do tummy time as much as I can with them. However, they’re rarely awake. They’re only awake to have a feed and then they go back to sleep, when do you all do tummy time with your babies? Or can you recommend me to do anything?

You don’t need to worry too much at that age. If you have them on your chest that counts. Also if you use a carrier that helps build the same muscles. Don’t stress yourself out just enjoy the newborn bubble

My LG has always hated tummy time, and we struggled to find the time to do it with me having a c section, so she has rarely done any (other than on our chests). She has just turned 6 months old and has now started rolling back to tummy, holds her head really well, is starting to sit for short periods unaided and has recently started pushing herself onto her arms when she is on her tummy (as if she is trying to crawl). So I wouldn't worry too much about regimented tummy time, just do what you can when you can, and as they get older, if you go out to any baby groups etc, you'll find they naturally do more time on the floor/tummy then. Just enjoy it 🥰

Don’t stress about it. If baby is laying on your chest, that counts as tummy time ☺️

Dont worry too much, you could do right after nappy change. I think at that age I would normally only manage to do it once a day as had the same problem. So once a day on the mat but you can do right after a nappy change on the changing mat if babies are awake then 😊 chest to chest and also you could carry them in your arm for a few mins while they are on their stomach, I do it now but was too scared when my baby was little.
