One or two naps a day?

My baby is 10.5 months old and has been fighting naps since before Christmas. I tried 1 nap yesterday she was so much better at going down. I am not sure if we should continue this or not as her wake window would be much longer than they recommend

My little one has only just turned 10 month's yesterday and she is napping 2 times a day but the naps are getting shorter.

@Libby Florence my daughters naps were always 30mins long but now they're getting much longer. She's on 2 naps usually but they can last 1-2 hours. Sometimes even 3 hours. I don't really want to transition to 1 nap until 12 months but wondered if anyone had done it ❤️

2 naps but fights the 2nd nap most times and now having a 3rd danger nap!

1 nap at nursery, 2 naps at home!

Wake windows aren’t a one size fits all, if it works for you guys absolutely keep it up x

@Samina our naps were always 30/40mins long twice a day but they started getting much longer and later. She just wants to play instead ❤️

Yup same but she also gets tired and cranky so I've put her down for a 3rd nap hoping it'll blend into the night might regret this tonight 😴 😅

I’ve just been suggested to contemplate dropping to 1 nap for the same reason. She did 1x 2 hr nap today and has fallen asleep much better tonight! Mind blowing!

@Charlee thankyouu! I'm going to give it a try, and if it doesn't work, then we can always switch back. She accidentally had a 3 hour nap with me today 🙈 she sleeps better with me than her own cot. But I put her in her own cot at night or we disturb each other. Tonight, it took me 40 minutes to get her to sleep at bedtime, but if I limit to 2 hours and not after 3, then it should be better like yesterday ❤️

My daughter has 2 naps but my eldest dropped to one nap at this age. It might take a few days for her to adjust and sleep for longer periods but if you found it working then definitely go for it. My son is now 2 and he naps at least 2 hours in the day but he’d gladly sleep the afternoon away 🤣

@Samantha thankyou! Its making me feel better knowing that it can happen. It doesn't seem to be a very common thing. She is happier to nap for longer periods of time if I fall asleep next to her. She has recently started to nap for an hour, sometimes an hour and a half, if i leave her on her own now too. She's breastfed, so I usually try to feed her to sleep. But lately, she hasn't been falling asleep at the breast and gets back up and tries to stand up on the bed, headbanging and laughing. She's just got so much energy. It could be teething, I'm unsure. But I'll try it and see, we can always change back ❤️
