My daughter was walking earlier than expected so she's had more practice and actually brings me her shoes when she wants to go in the backyard to play now But at first, she wanted to be held and didn't keep socks or shoes on. It matters if the shoes have good support but overall it's just a phase. I would walk a little away to encourage her to stand up but she used to just sit whenever I put her down too Maybe in the Spring because it's not snowy here and I think my girl would do the same if there was snow on the ground 😆
I started to put shoes on my son as little as 5 months old to get him use to it, plus it was cute. But he walks with both on or off. I usually only put shoes on if we are outside of the house but at home he is barefoot. He wants better without compared with shoes. But i do make sure they are wide foot for he wont have his toes squished together.
My one year old does well in little soft soled moccasins!
We started with moccasins and he did great. Now we just wear barefoot style shoes.
The Nike swoosh 1 are great for us. They aren’t cheap but we found them at a Nike outlet
My LO doesn't walk all by herself but she is walking assisted w shoes. She does try to take them off first lol.
