I had it with my first. I thought it was carpal tunnel. I found a wrist support helped. One that supports your thumb. It went away once I reduced the number of feeds at around 6 months. Thankfully don’t have it this time with my second.
Yes definitely I have. Some days it’s worse than others.
I’ve got this i’ve had it through pregnancy though too, mines on the inside near the bone 😅
It’s very likely that you all have what I posted above. Midwives are too quick to say it’s carpel tunnel syndrome but the treatment needed is slightly different, including where you require the support if wearing a split. Your GP can offer you a steroid injection followed by physio or you can self refer to physio x
Sounds like your pain is the opposite side to the classic "mommy wrist", which makes sense if twisting aggravates it. Look up 'ulnar-sided wrist pain'. With any of these conditions, the main treatment is avoiding movements that cause the pain. If a wrist support helps with this, then can be useful, but not always practical. If lifting, try to keep your wrist neutral, rather than letting the hand bend towards the bone that sticks out. For feeding, try to find ways to support baby that aren't all about your wrist! e.g, use pillows to support, or look at different positions for feeding e.g. more reclined so your body is taking more of baby's weight. If you can, try to see a hand therapist who will be able to do a thorough assessment and give more specific advice. Good luck!
I had this with my first. It is really not fun 🥴 what worked for me was looking up online what movements trigger the pain. For me, making sure that I keep my thumb close to my hand as close as I can during the dayslowly made a difference. I don't remember how long it took, but eventually, I got rid of the pain, and it hasnt come back since. I hope it goes for you quickly 💚🤞
