What to pack for mamma and baby for hospital?

I’m a first time mom due April 18 and I have no idea what to pack for the hospital other than the obvious things.

Depends adult diapers for the bleeding. Overnight pads will not cut it! Moisturizer, chap stick and moisturizing nasal spray.

My favorite things I took every time were a little portable fan and a pack of face and body wipes. I got pretty sweaty early PP and being able to just wipe my body and face and feel some what clean and fresh was a game changer.

I've had 2, and for my 3rd all I'm bringing is basically toiletries, phone chargers, clothes for baby, very loose clothes for me, a robe with pockets, and some makeup just because I like to feel refreshed and like myself again after all that

I’m glad that I brought my extension cord, a long phone charger, my mini portable stroller fan, and I brought snacks (you never know when you could give birth and the hospital cafeteria could be closed, vending machines might be broken/not working, fast food/restaurants nearby could be closed) and a refillable water bottle along with the essentials for mama and baby (i’m glad I brought at least at least mascara, eyeliner, lip balm with color bc I ended up needing a C-section due to a failed induction and it felt nice to get some make up on for pictures and my friend brought make up to for after and it made her feel refreshed in a way)

@Kelsey they should provide all the pads, mesh underwear, etc at the hospital. What you'll need at home is very dependent on the individual, I've been fine with the extras from the hospital followed by always overnights. Doesn't hurt to be prepared, but shouldn't be necessary to pack with you to the hospital.

I'm with Catherine, the hospital really provides most of what you need. Take home anything in the room that isn't packaged because they'll just have to throw it out otherwise (just check with a nurse if you aren't sure about something). I have a couple of super comfy nursing gowns/robe sets that I take, and whatever I need for that first heavenly post-birth shower. ChapStick, snacks, water bottle, going home outfits for you both and a photo outfit for baby if you plan on having the hospital newborn photos done.

@Audrey the ones at the hospital were not comfortable for me personally. I’m glad I brought them. To each their own! 🥰

I personally bring my own diapers also because the under and pads are extremely uncomfortable. I also bring my own peri bottle because it’s curved so it’s better to clean blood down there.

For you: Toiletries, your own blanket and pillow, comfortable clothes, breastfeeding friendly clothes, your breast pump so you can get help learning to use it For baby: outfit to go home in, baby blanket, carsseat cover in case its cold or raining

The Fridamom Labor, Delivery and Postpartum Kit is amazing! The hospital provides almost everything that comes in it, but the quality is SO much better and more comfortable, I’d bring the postpartum underwear at the very least. Other than that I’d bring basic hygiene products, clothes (labor gown, postpartum pjs, robe and comfy going home fit), chargers, snacks and possibly make up if you want. I do wish I brought my pregnancy pillow and a fuzzy blanket with my first and will 100% be having those with me this time. For baby; going home outfit, swaddle, baby monthly milestones name announcement (I’m extra), car seat and cover.
