Elective c section Mamas

Just wondering when or if you’ve yet been told when you will be having a section? I am keen to understand when it may likely be just because I have taken some annual leave before due date but I do see it tends to be 1 week before due date? I haven’t discussed this with my midwife at all yet but will at next appointment

It's usually in the week before due date, I think that part is fairly universal, although my midwife mentioned that when you talk to the consultant you can ask to plan it as close to your due date as possible. My hospital won't give you a specific date until a few days before and even that isn't a given, especially if you're towards the end of the list as schedules can easily slip due to emergencies. But different hospitals have different procedures so it's worth discussing with your midwife!

Just deleted my previous post by mistake 😆 so l had an elective with my 1st, my midwife told me my section date on my 37 week appointment, and l got the letter through the post when l was about 38, 5 weeks. I had my lo when l was 39+2.

I think it totally depends on the hospital trust as each differs on when they will give a date!! I had my first meeting with consultant at 24 weeks and they booked me in for 39 weeks and gave me my date there and then! Xxx

I had mine 6 days before my due date and got about 2 weeks notice of the exact date and time. They try and leave it to 39 weeks if possible x
