Absence review meeting

I’ve been invited in for an absence review meeting on Monday. I’m 29 weeks and currently on my 5th week of absence due to HG. Does anyone know if I’d be in my rights to ask for the meeting to be online or over the phone? I live 45 mins from school so not exactly a journey I want to be making unnecessarily! For context, I was off before Christmas for the same reason and briefly returned to work in January before having to go off again. Last time, they called me for an absence review after 3 months and I used it as a return to work meeting which I didn’t particularly enjoy and didn’t find it massively helpful!

Pregnancy related absence cannot be used as part of absence management. You would be best to take advice from your union

I can’t believe they’re not aware that any pregnancy related sickness doesn’t stay on your record or add up to disciplinary action?! It’s a pretty basic right. Concerning.

I don’t think it’s disciplinary and it states on the letter that it’s to plan how to help me etc… my union rep attended with me last time and I’ve asked for her to again but I’ve also asked to do it over zoom/the phone because I don’t feel able to go in (hence being signed off in the first place)

I had my review meeting online via a video chat on microsoft Teams when I had mine. I was unable to travel as my sickness was so much worse in the car

@Georgina how far along were you and what did you actually discuss if you don’t mind me asking?
