How old is your little one ? Every child is different so bringing it up to your pediatrician won’t hurt. But also look into speech therapy , he may just need a little encouragement to get talking more.
I would bring it up but also don’t be too concerned yet. All kids are different and their milestones are hit at different times
Is he an only child? I noticed with my oldest that it took him a bit longer to form sentences and words sometimes. He was an only child at the time. With my second, it’s a whole different story. Since her brother is now seven and talks a lot, and she is two, she picks up many words and sentences from him.
@Generra he will be 3 on april 19th! Im wondering if its just speech therapy that he might need! He knows his abcs can count to 20 and he knows alot of words just isnt wanting to form long sentences yet
@Wendy he isnt but he is the oldest his younger brother is almost two and ive noticed he has caught on to words quicker. So that would make sense!
@Wendy they also dont go to daycare. I stay home with them so have wondered if that could be some of it. He is starting preschool part time this fall!
My son also didn’t go to daycare—I was a stay-at-home mom too. Even though we did some learning at home, it was still the same. We also had friends who came over everyday. Now, he talks nonstop and speaks so well! Doesn’t hurt to bring it up to your peds if you are worry.
Now my daughter who is two, she talks so well and we see that she picks up a lot of it from her brother. 😆
@Wendy this makes me feel better! Yes we do alot of learner at home too and he knows so many words just cant get him to use them in sentences! I will probably bring it up at our next appointment!
@Morgan does she go to daycare? I know they say that can help! Also my pediatrician told me girls tend to learn faster than boys🤷🏽♀️
So my daughter will be 3 April 25th. She knows songs abcs 123 can tell me if she in pain potty and all. But when it comes to full sentences she just wasn’t doing that. I put her in speech therapy because I discovered she had a slight lisp so after doing speech for about a month and half she can talk full sentence and her pronunciation is much better. But it will come along he’s just taking his sweet time but when he starts he won’t stop lol
@Generra this makes me feel better! I will definitely bring up speech therapy at our next appointment!
Best of luck mommy! You got this stay
Yes, she also goes to daycare
I would bring it up, my girl is using full sentences, telling stories she makes up, full conversations.
