Swelling of muscles

Hi ladies, I’ve just recently found out about fibromyalgia, my GP is suspecting it is that but have not confirmed. I’ve however been referred to mental health team as they are saying the pains, fatigue , ibs and a whole lot of symptoms are due to the mental state I’m in. It’s getting me down as I feel really hopeless and angry at myself ( because I’m thinking it’s all in my head). This weekend I’ve got swollen very achy muscle/s on my left arm. I cannot even hold my daughter to nurse her that’s how much pain I’m in. I’m feeling tired now physically and mentally. I want to find out if I’m not going crazy? Hubby felt my arms and he’s confirmed I’m not making it up.

It is a mental health condition, that doesn't mean you're making it up or symptoms aren't real, or it's all in your head. It means your brain rather than body is causing very real symptoms. Symptoms are caused by the brain attacking the body instead of actual sickness or damage, but the symptoms it causes are still very real not imagined. Make sense?
