I would follow babys lead as they are all different, my lo prefers solids to milk and we are down to 2x milk feeds a day because he literally won't have milk and goes mad if I don't stop trying etc. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I believe that they are all different and I think following their lead of best, my lo definitely does tel me what he wants and doesn't want when it comes to food x
Honestly the BLW page annoys me with the milk advice, Yes babies main source of nutrition is milk until 1, but even if i didn't feed my baby any food at all in a day and tried to just give her milk, she still won't drink more milk, she's ready to drop to 2 bottles now. So I've just started following her lead and I've been giving her vitamins too so I'm confident she's getting what she needs.
Thank you, your comments have helped me feel a little better. In exactly the same boat, there’s only so many times you can try and if they really refuse it then when else can be done. 🙈 I’ve also given some multivitamins today for the first time, so fingers crossed we are covering all bases! ❤️
Can I ask what vitamins you are using? The health visitor had only given me vitamin d and said i didn't need anymore for my LG. But just out of curiosity lol
@Kirsty Im Using the abidec multi vitamins
The Health Visitor recommended the NHS Healthy Start vitamins that they sell in Superdrug, but I’ve been to three stores and they were sold out everywhere. 🤷🏻♀️ I ended up getting the Wellbaby Vitamins. HV said to get the ones with A, B & D in. Xx
My LG is the same. She will be 11 months on the 17th. When we were at our last visit with th HV she told us to drop one bottle which was mid morning. My LG is now refusing the afternoon bottle. I'm not worried though as she's eating plenty food and happy during the day 😊 she will sometimes take a morning bottle and that's her til bedtime, then up at least once for a bottle through the night 🤷♀️ works for us and every LO is different!
