What is this?

Hi everyone, I’m really struggling in the week before my period (and every day leading up to it) and looking for advice. I have a toddler and a 3 month old. I’ve been experiencing extreme mood swings, crying for no reason multiple times a day, panic attacks that come out of no where, and a deep sense of sadness that I can’t shake that feels like it lives in my stomach . I also have physical symptoms like back muscle pain, exhaustion, and zero motivation to take care of myself. It’s affecting my relationships and making it hard sometimes to be present for my kids (I’ve been disassociating), which makes me feel even worse. This is my second period since having bubs and i felt better for a few days but now in the final days of my period the feeling has returned. I always had mild pms before kids but this is next level feelings I’ve never felt before and I’m kind of scared. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be post partum depression even though bubs is 3 months? I don’t feel anything negative towards my kids or my husband, my thoughts mostly revolve around myself and life and routine in general. How did you find ways to manage it? I’d really appreciate any insight.

Have you ever had pmdd? That shit fucks me up emotionally!

Hey mamas, first thing I want to say is you are doing your best and give your self some grace motherhood is hard! I know exactly how you are feeling and it sounds like postpartum depression/ anxiety! I had it pretty bad after I had my second child.

@Lyss after googling about it, it seems to tick all the boxes 🤪 have you been officially diagnosed with it - on medication for it, etc? Would love to know your experience in dealing with it!!

@Kayla thank you so much 🤍🤍🤍how did you deal with it - medication, etc? How long did it take to recover?

Yes I have a 3 month old and just was diagnosed with ppd. I believe it’s around the 2-3 month mark when your hormones take a plummet from after birth. I just got put on meds the other day and didn’t have it with my first.

@Megan this is so helpful thank you ❤️❤️ I hope things get better for you mama
