I had an elective c section there last June. Surgery team were amazing but the aftercare could do with a lot of improvement. As a first time mum and with them not allowing partners overnight, I could have really done with a lot more support. I still feel sad about parts of my experience there.
Giving birth there was amazing.. any time I had to go to triage throughout my pregnancy was horrific. I was crying in pain and left and told if something happens to my baby, it’s my fault because I couldn’t keep still for the monitor. I then heard 2 midwives talking about me and laughing and saying I was just being dramatic.. turns out I had gallstones and was also in early labour so got rushed to the labour ward.. another time I had a doctor tell me I couldn’t feel my baby kicking because I was “fat” even though I had been feeling him kick since 18 weeks and this was about 26 weeks. Triage I would never go there again but the actual labour ward was incredible, I wouldn’t have had it any different and my midwives were amazing. Postnatal ward was okay, I’ve only had 1 baby so only 1 experience, could’ve probably been better but I wasn’t unhappy with anything that happened on there
Mine was fab. I had planned caesarian. Hospital lovely and clean and all of the staff so nice, and super efficient. Many of my friends have had positive experiences there too xxx
