Early mat leave

Sorry feel like I’m posting every half a day lol 😂🙈 soo after a hoo har about reduced hours my boss has reduced to 9 hours from 12 after I requested 8. Back to work this set of 5 after 2 weeks off and I’ve now been struck with some form of flu/cold sore throat and blocked nose (not sure if sore throat is from snoring a new thing for me 😂) however working in a call centre where I have to answer phones for 7.5 hrs not great. In a big dilemma I’m thinking of going sick as I just feel like my body needs to rest and relax however I’m not sure if my mind is 😂 I’m a busy girl with ADHD so I’m worried if I go off now I’m going to bored shitless 🙈 Any first time mums starting mat leave now when due mid may and how your keeping busy or you embracing the relax lifestyle xx

I'm due may 1st, got signed off at 29 weeks due to pain and a Dr saying I'll go into early labour if I don't stop now. I'm now 33 weeks and been off for almost 4 weeks now. My mat leave is due to start on Monday and I can honestly say, your body will tell you when you're ready. I have ADHD too but prepping baby stuff has really helped and the resting had made my pain go from a 9/10 to a 3/10 x

Do you have a sick policy can you not go off with none pregnancy related illness and then you can be off without using mat leave early

@Ashleigh my boss tbh has said if not well enough I can go sick and still be paid and mat leave won’t be affected so could go off sick now until 25th April and then go on mat leave then xx

@Jessica this is reassuring to hear I think my body is needing to just stop xx

I’m due 12th of may and I go off the end of next week! My job is non stop and I’ve been struggling, I only came back 2 weeks ago tho as I was signed off for 2 weeks! U have to just think of yourself a the baby, u don’t want any stress or illness so you probs need the rest before having the baby so I’d go off earlier if I was u xx

U just have to be careful if u take sick leave as ur work place can start ur maternity early from a certain point (not sure when tho)

You can take sick leave until up to 4 weeks before your due date without triggering your maternity leave, and pregnancy sickness doesn’t count towards sickness records so if you’re not feeling good you could go off sick now and not trigger your mat leave for a while 😊

I’m due on the 16th May, I also have ADHD and my body isn’t coping well with this pregnancy (4th baby) I decided to take my A/L I had in one lump and I finished work mid February then my Mat leave starts in a few weeks. I’ve kept myself busy with jobs around the house, going out on walks and having some me time and having rest days, and I’m so glad I did, I feel less stressed and my pains have also reduced aswell x

Im due beginning of May or maybe end of April I also got ADHD (which coming out of meds has been the hardest thing for me, harder than quitting vape), and honestly this my second week on MAT leave, it’s sad because it’s only 6 weeks full pay, but honestly nothing is worse than feeling tired all the time. Ps: I am a restaurant manager which is really not the best place to work while being pregnant!

I’m due 11th May and I left work at 30 weeks. I had 5 weeks holiday to use anyway but my job is very physically demanding and I was really struggling, I’m 2 weeks in and I have no regrets!
