Dummy

I eventually want to get rid of the dummy but I’m worried about when to do it .. she doesn’t have it during the day anymore apart from in the pushchair car seat if necessary but she has it for all of her sleep and I’m worried it’s going to cause speech delays! Has anyone successfully removed it around this age or when do you think is a good age to do it ? We are finally going through a spell of sleeping through so I’m not willing to rock the boat atm

I think so long as they don’t have it when they don’t ’need’ it you’ll be fine. It’s the kids that have it alllll day long that practitioners go on about speech delay with. Personally I’m going to wait a bit longer, with my first, we gave her dummy to the ‘dummy fairy’ so waited till she was at an age where she could understand, 2+

I got rid of it in January just went cold turkey. Little boy had a cold so was struggling to breath with it in so I took the opportunity to get rid. Best thing I’ve done.

I also went cold turkey and so so glad i did, personally think its a good age to do it as they can’t really ask for it yet, was a rough 3 days and then he completely forgot about it

We went cold turkey. It was hard for about 2 nights and then it was forgotten about. X
