How many naps is your baby having?

19 week old, we’ve transitioned from 5 naps to 4, however she’s started going back to the half hour naps so she’s ridiculously tired by bedtime. Do I drop to 3 naps a day in the hope she’ll sleep longer or? No idea if this is sleep regression, teething or just her keeping me on my toes 🥲

With my first I don't think i started tracking how many naps he had until he was around 1. If she needs an extra nap let her have it 🙂 dropping to 3 naps and keeping her awake is likely to just make her super overtired and interfere with her night sleep. My second is 14 weeks now and sometimes she has 4 naps and sometimes 5 i just try to go with the flow! Could be a number of things affecting her sleep, she should get her routine back in a few weeks.

I agree to not worry - with my first he was on 4 naps of c 30mins until he was about 6 / 7 months and then he started doing longer naps so we dropped to 3 then 2 very quickly! My daughter is now 16 weeks and also mostly on 30 mins naps so we’re on 4 or 5 naps. I’ve focused more on wake windows than naps to be honest!

19 weeks on Saturday. Naps are hit and miss here. On a good day she can do 3 1-2hr naps and is amazing. She sleeps 9-11hrs at night. On a bad day like today she only had 8hrs last night followed by 3 30 minute naps and a 2hr nap with her grumping at me in between. Last week she was teething had her 16 week jabs and tongue tie division and she has been super gassy the last few days so we are just rolling with it at the mo.

I think you just move bedtime earlier when they drop a nap. But it depends my 19 week old still has no routine timed naps and has short 30 min naps ....but is content during her wake windows, I'm just flexible on bedtime as sometimes when you think they are dropping a nap things can change again or they are tired more quickly than you anticipate x

I use the huckleberry app to track sleep It gives a prediction of nap time and if they're regularly falling asleep past nap time it'll suggest to drop a nap. I've used it for two years now and find it so useful
