First time SAHM

Hello mamas! So im a FTM to a 5 week old and my fiance is currently on paternity leave, he has about 6 weeks left and im gonna be a SAHM. However the closer the days get the more anxious I get im currently going thru PPD and PPA and im on meds for it so the constant thoughts cause me to overthink a lot and panic at the thought that im gonna be at home with a baby for the first time not knowing what to expect and constantly thinking that im gonna be stuck at home forever and not get a break when I know its not true because i have a village to help me its my anxiety that wont give me peace. Any SAHM please give me advice and let me know your experiences and what you do during the day.

If it makes you feel any better.. my man got 2 weeks of paternity leave and then it was just me and 2 week old TWINS 😅 I promise, it seems sooo much more intimidating than it really is, you'll very quickly fall into your guys' own rhythm and rock that shit like it's nothing 🫶🏻

@Kylee holy shit TWINS?! You are a warrior girl!! Thank you so much 😊

My partner got 6 weeks paternity leave for each child and to help my anxiety we would do a mock day with minimal help so I could get a routine together before I was actually alone. It wasn't so bad because he was still working remotely but we pretty much pretend he isn't home for the most part. I'm back to work now and I'm also remote. It's not bad once you have a routine, just include baby in your daily activities and narrate everything. I would wear my baby in a carrier a lot.

Just take it one day at a time. And no matter what you need to prioritize your rest until you feel recovered enough to do other tasks. Nap whenever your baby naps.

So I had my daughter and my husband got a week then a week remote then had to go back full time. I will say I was nannying 3-4 times a week a month after I had my baby but mostly on my days off I would laze around and read her books and maybe do some dishes and/or laundry. Do what makes you feel good until you feel more yourself again. I'm now a full time sahm and I enjoy it way more! That's my best advice.
