Need to vent!

Hey. This is extremely hard to post as I’ve never told anyone this. But basically I struggle massively everyday with feelings regarding health and dying. I worry about my own health and my kids every day. I have to fight urges to constantly check my body and to check my kids every single day. If my child is unwell I instantly panic thinking the worst! I also think about my kids being old when I’m not here anymore and worry about them feeling lonely or being mistreated it makes me cry. I’m no fun to be around anymore as my head is always thinking these horrible thoughts. I feel like a useless mum. I just love them so much 😢♥️ I just want to enjoy my life but I’m in such a rut I can’t shake these thoughts. Even going in shower triggers my anxiety I always find a mark freckle spot I didn’t notice before I just don’t want to feel like this 😭

I had OCD and that was my life before take the pill that i needed... is very hard. But I encourage to you to found help! My life really change

@Nadia can ocd cause these feelings?

Definitely yes! Somentimes is not OCD just a big big anxiety. But I recommend you 100% look for help! For me was a huge change, now I enjoy everything and worry less!

@Nadia interesting… I would love to feel like this. Thank you for taken time to read and reply xx

Totally agree with Nadia, look for psychologic help, therapy and/or medication will help you live a better life.

I felt this way and still do sometimes but I found therapy helped and also having a life insurance policy helped too as I would constantly think about what would happen to my boy if I died suddenly. Definitely seek some professional help as it honestly works xx

I struggle with this massively and it’s a huge part of my OCD 😩 I’m currently having therapy for it

@Shelley ocd is something I’ve never considered could be wrong but I will definitely look into it. Thank you for everyone’s replies I definitely feel less alone now xx

As others have said, these are quite often OCD traits and can be so difficult to deal with, so please be kind to yourself. It can be so hard to open up for the first time, but please reach out to your GP, they can refer you to your local community mental health team for support. You may find medication helps, or maybe therapy, or a combination of both. Please don't suffer in silence x

My cousin has horrific health anxiety. She had to go to cornhill (Aberdeen) for therapy and she’s still not fully over it but she can leave her home now and has even been abroad. I would speak to your doctor and see if they can offer the same

@Rhiannon this is another thing I really can’t bring myself aboard as I keep thinking if I go aboard well get skin c 😭😭😭 I don’t want my kids to miss out but these intrusive thoughts keep creeping in! X

Speak to your health visitor or make a GP appointment, health anxiety is a real thing and you can get help.

@Sarah I know I really want to but I feel so silly and embarrassed 😭

Don't feel embarrassed!! The doctors in the gp don't make a lot of personals questions, for then was enough when I say that I had OCD, and feeling depressed and anxious

@Nadia this is good to know. I don’t know I just feel silly about telling people how I’m feeling. 🫠x

I’m a psychologist struggling with OCD myself and this is definitely OCD. There is absolutely no reason to feel shame and seek help. Health related intrusive thoughts are actually very very common. With the help of medication and therapy i am now 90% better. Make a GP appointment asap there is no point in suffering in silence. Wishing you all the best 😊 x

@Daria hello thanks for reply! Should I suggest I potentially have ocd? Xx
