Struggling to Work

Is anyone else struggling to have the energy to work? I'm only 5 weeks but I feel so nauseous and am completely exhausted and have been having headaches. I work in the office 5 days a week for 9 hours a day with an hour commute each way and honestly I am massively struggling with this! Anyone got any tips on how to cope with the exhaustion? Any help would be appreciated 🥲

Omg yes! No nausea for me but I’m so tired. I used to do so much overtime but now just getting through a normal week is hard enough. So no tips but I feel you on this one!

I'm also 5 weeks and knackered. I'm going to bed really early, eating every couple of hours and napping after work. It's really hard!

For me it’s more the anxiety than anything. I am struggling to concentrate due to the worry of it all!

Yep it's not great! I think I'm going to have to tell them early (I'm only 6 weeks) as I don't think I can actually make it into the office or work the whole day!

Relate! Get a sick note from GP to work from home if you can x

Ok I am so glad that it's not just me in this situation - thank you for your replies. Just feels never ending at the moment 😩. I'm going to try and get more sleep if I can and keep eating every couple of hours. If none of this helps then I will get a note from the doctor. Women are actually incredible ❤️ proud of us all and I'm sure we can get through this x

@Sarah I am feeling similar to be honest. It's my first baby and I'm literally googling every single thing (I'm sure my work are probably aware of the pregnancy if they look up my search history 😂). I'm hoping it will get easier as time goes on and once we have more reassurance of the pregnancy. I've booked an early scan next week - maybe you could do the same just to have a bit of peace of mind? X

Same here! Although luckily I work from home so it’s a lot easier and no commute but I cannot focus as my energy levels are so low atm, I don’t know how I get any work done right now it’s so hard

I don’t know how you do it. I’m usually working from home but on day 1 of 4 back to back in London this week with a 90 min commute each way and I feel awful!! Not sure I’m gonna make it through the week 😩

@Claudia I’m the same m, wfh 10hr shifts 😥

Same here! Not sure if this is an option where you work but on days that it was too much I would just try to head home earlier (some days at 4pm). I’m also in the office most days and luckily no one seemed to care. I find that the exhaustion comes in waves though - would have stretches of exhausting days, then days when it feels more normal again. So hang in there ❤️ At some point you will need an ally at work. I told someone senior in my team that I trust so they could look out for me on days I was feeling a bit wobbly.
